In this group people are pretty good about policing their own incivility and exhibiting it elsewhere. This group is a haven from the mindless fighting and complaining that goes on. Sometimes, such material will be rejected. Those decisions will be arbitrary and probably unfair.

The intent is not to hurt the typer's feelings, but rather to maintain a place where writers can be civil and creative. Not a lot of thought will be given to what gets rejected and what does not. The moderator knows what he doesn't want to see, and is pretty sure many others share the same standards.

This is not an attempt to ban all controversy, kvetching and character assassination on Gather, but rather keeping it out of just this one place.
